Meet the stylist making waves in the hair industry: Jordan Heyes

Tell me a bit about your salon/business. What do you do? What services do you provide?

We are known for our extensions and technical colour work. We love working with blondes, vivids and balyage as well as highlighting to give big colour transformations. We are hair extensions specialists and offer all fitting techniques such as weft, stick tip and weft tapes. Our extensions allow us to achieve our clients’ hair goals, whether that’s thickness and length, colour change or a few tweaks to enhance what they already have.

Why this type of business?

I’ve always loved the industry and wanted to be a hairdresser from a young age. Despite having a severe allergic reaction to hair dye, I still ended up in the industry! I love hairdressing just as much now as I did when I first started. It’s a great career where you can show your creativity. Every day is different, from what you do to each client’s hair to the different people you see.

How did the Covid-19 pandemic affect your business?

We were open four years before the pandemic, and of course when Covid-19 hit, we really felt it. We spent a long time building our brand on social media, perfecting our craft and establishing strong relationships with our clients so that when we came back after lockdown, our business went from strength to strength.

Meet the salon owner who believes education is the key to success

What makes your business different to others in the same area/field? What sets your business apart from your competitors?

I have two aspects of the salon I’m very passionate about. One is that we provide a great salon for clients and the other is the training and educating we provide for our stylists at the beginning of their careers. We’re there to help and mentor them so that they become the best stylist they can be. As a salon, we are constantly looking for new trends and the newest techniques to offer our clients. We want to give our clients the best hair service but we also want our clients to walk out and feel more confident and empowered in themselves. We have spent a lot of time and energy building our brand up and growing our client base organically across our social media. We have such a supportive community and we love showcasing our clients hair journeys.

What’s next? What do the next few months hold for you and your salon?

We have an exciting few months ahead where we will be launching our very own Olivia James product range - we are so excited to share with everyone. We also have some exciting brand collaborations coming up throughout the year.
