TWO final league fixtures completed the season and decided the titles in both the First Division and the Dundee Youth Division as two very exciting fixtures took place.

In a nerve-jangling First Division encounter Upton FC made life difficult for Poulton Vics as they took the game to 2-2 with goals from Dave Battle an Dave Harrison.

But a late flurry of goals enabled the Vics to take the title on goal-difference thanks to efforts from Karl Barker (2), Jack Ledsham (2) and Joe McGhee which made them champions ahead of long standing rivals Nelson FC who also finished on 52 points.

This completed a superb treble for the Vics and their managers Mike Palliser and Tony Hammond as the league secretary presented team captain Craig Kaye with the trophy.

In the Dundee Youth division, a battling performance from Eastham Rangers Jets was not enough to derail the title challenge of Glenavon Athletic as they ran out 3-0 winners to claim top place for manager Phil Ainscough and their committee as they finished two points ahead of Groves FC and were presented with the league trophy at the conclusion of the fixture by LMC members.
