THE 420 Arriva bus route from West Kirby to Liverpool will have its last day of operation tomorrow (Friday, January 19).

Earlier this month, bus company Arriva confirmed it was making changes to its bus services across Merseyside and the North West from January 21.

There will be changes to some routes and timetables, with some services enhanced to meet new levels of demand but also some reductions where demand has fallen and some general timetable changes.

In these changes, it was confirmed that the 420 service, from West Kirby to Liverpool was going to be withdrawn.

In a social media post yesterday (Wednesday, January 17) Arriva said: "We regret to advise that after operation on 19/01, service 420 will be withdrawn.

"We review all our routes to ensure we provide customers with the best service possible, while able to continue operating a stable bus network over the longer term."
