AN award-winning florist is hoping to add to her growing list of honours as she’s in the running for Retail Florist of the Year.
Hot on the heels of Bromborough Flowers taking Wirral’s Best Independent Shop or Business 2023 title, owner Pauline Bartlett is in the running for a national floral award.
Each year, the British Florist Association runs its annual awards ceremony recognising the best in the industry in several categories.
In May, people were invited to nominate their favourite business and after being nominated in two categories, Bromborough Flowers chose to be shortlisted for Retail Florist of the Year.
The shop made the finals last year and Pauline’s apprentice Andrea Borrer secured Apprentice of the Year.

Pauline said: “Understandably, we are over the moon at being shortlisted especially given this is a UK-wide awards recognising the “best of the best” in the industry.
“It follows swiftly on the success of being voted Best Independent Business 2023 by the Wirral Globe readers and our customers.
“It’s been lovely to have such wonderful support and to be recognised for all of our hard work.
“The the voting process in these awards is down to other people taking the time to vote for us, which means everything.
“To win this award would be a fitting end to the year for us and it would be amazing if we could bring it back home to the Wirral.
“It would further cement all that is good about living and having a successful business in Wirral and how supportive people in the area have been to us and other small business owners in the area.”
Pauline, who has lived in Wirral for the last 15 years, started the business in 2019 opening the shop on Allport Road in Bromborough in 2020.
She grew up in Rainford near St Helens, which is where she started her floristry training at 16, opening her first floristry business at the age of 17.
She now offers community tuition classes throughout Wirral.
