READING your article in the July 27 edition New food waste collection service to be scrutinised made us both laugh.
Having recently moved from over the border from Wales, we found the lack of recycling in this area very frustrating.
Most of our green bin is filled with stuff that is recyclable material.
Before we moved we could go for four weeks before our household waste was anywhere near full.
Recyclable materials were collected every week as was a very small food waste bin. Household waste was collected fortnightly.
It is such a sin to have put all this recyclable packing into landfill. Wirral will never meet its target as it stands.
They say they need to recycle 50% of all household waste.
I can only speak for myself, but looking at what goes into our green bin, they are not even recycling 10% of our household waste.
Come on Wirral, look at your neighbours. If they can do it so can you.
Mrs E Dallin, Bebington
