LAST year I wrote a letter trying to understand the lack of Christmas lights in Claughton village, whilst the rest of Wirral villages were festooned.
This year Claughton village did have lights, in fact on writing this missive, the village still has lights - on January 16.
Is that bad luck?
The letter by DH hit the nail on the head, these lights were poor and for the Claughton Community Group secretary to respond in such a acerbic way leaves a bitter taste.
If a job is worth doing, do it well.
At least involve all the local businesses, especially the most established ones.
The considerable achievement given the timescales by the Claughton Community Group was to make a mockery of the village.
If the cost of putting these lights up is £7,000, (this figure was provided by a local councillor) I want my council tax refunded because many businesses could have done a better job for a fraction of the cost.
Take these eye sores down.
