SADLY we see yet another Wirral resident charged with animal cruelty in the story headlined Dog left in appalling state by teacher, which appeared in last week's Globe.
But it is good to see the RSPCA and our local inspector teaming up with Charles Thompson Mission to offer a drop-in day for struggling pet-owners.
As all rescues are full to bursting with unwanted animals, I would implore owners of cats and dogs to please neuter your animals.
There is help with neutering costs for those on benefits or low income from Cats Protection South Wirral branch and also Dogs Trust.
It is an old wives' tale that cats should have one litter before being spayed.
Neutering prevents unwanted offspring as well as keeping pets healthy.
Kathy Owen, Little Neston.
