DURING the Rotary year to June 30, the Rotary Club of Heswall raised £14,408 for charities.
I would like to thank with real gratitude the people of Heswall and beyond who so generously contributed through our collecting boxes, bookstall and events to achieve such a great result.
They have helped not only local charities we support, but also the work of recovery in Nepal and children in Ghana and South Africa.
Apart from the costs of events that involve hall hire, all money collected is passed on to our chosen charitable work – there are no office expenses.
This generosity shows that through Rotary, gifts to help people in dire circumstances make a real difference. Thank you all very much.
Gwil Evans, Heswall Rotary president.
