WITH the passing of the council budget, Wirral's Labour group has once again demonstrated that Birkenhead businesses are at the bottom of their priorities.
The council had an opportunity with this budget to champion Birkenhead Market and the town centre by supporting my campaign for free parking from 3pm to be made permanent in council-operated car parks.
Giving drivers an opportunity to park for free would make it easier for people to shop in the market, the Pyramids or other town centre shops, rather than shopping out of town.
Free parking from 3pm would be a real boost for businesses and traders.
I hope Wirral Council will consider this proposal to help ensure Birkenhead town centre remains vibrant for residents and businesses alike.

@BirkenheadFirst @WIRRALGLOBENEWS with more free parking retail units at Bidston Moss and New Brighton, Birkenhead really needs this support
