I CANNOT believe that once again Wirral Council have surpassed themselves with outstanding customer service. 

In March of this year, we decided not to make an additional payment for the collection of garden waste. 

Unfortunately, shortly thereafter, my husband was involved in a serious accident which meant we had to undertake the additional charge for the luxury of having our brown bin emptied, despite already having paid our council tax. 

Therefore, you can appreciate our surprise when we contacted the council to say our bin had not been emptied nor had the collection service been in our road. The council advised that Biffa have an electronic system which alerts management immediately if a roads cannot be accessed, or a bin has not been left out, and for this reason we had not left our bin out and they would not be arranging to collect our bin until the next scheduled date.

If seems pretty strange that when you pay for a service the customer is disbelieved and the supplier is right! 

I will be conveying this to my MP and am sure this will be a matter for debate again next year when the council asks for more money from those who work hard and pay their bills.
