I HAVE read the leaflets of all the local political parties and it is clear that all of them are equally opposed to any underground coal gasification exploitation on the Dee Estuary, something I’m sure the local community is reassured about.

So why does the West Wirral Labour Party bleat on about an issue which all parties agree on, instead of putting party allegiances aside and doing as Esther McVey suggests and working together to fight any proposals that might be put forward for underground coal gasification in the Dee Estuary?

This would be for the good of Wirral West, instead of trying to scaremonger and score points before an election.
