Wirral poppies are sobering reminder of Great War

AT A time when Wirral Council has received some negative comments, we would like to say a big thank you to whoever it was who decided to plant thousands of poppies on Wirral roundabouts and grass verges.

Also thank you to the gardeners who planted the seeds and plants.

It is very sobering to stop at the Arrowe Park traffic lights, for example, and see all the beautiful poppies, each one a reminder of those loved and lost in the Great War in this centenary year.
