Disgusted by Wirral school closure plan

I WAS disgusted to read your front page article saying the Lyndale Special School was closing.

My grandson went to this school and they were brilliant.

Could you tell me why it is costing thousands to build a staircase at Wallasey Town Hall – and yet they would rather have a staircase than educate children with special needs.

Those children need a small school, some are able to adjust to bigger school but there are more that can’t and need specialists to care for them.

Mrs Lane the school would have remained open if

WBC had not had to spend £4165k on Anna Klownowski report

wbc had not spent nearly £1 m paying off senior officers and gagging them in the process

WBC had not spent £50k on Gerant Thorntoin to comne up with the obvious that WBc had utterly mishandled its erdf and DWP money in iots business start up program

wbc had not given money to bankrupt company to repair west kirby marina

wbc had not allowed millions to be wasted on its start-up business program

wbc had not paid for consultants to investigte its own officers in Highways department and others

I weary of this tasjk but let it be said that WBC had it not been so profligate in the past might have met essential expenditure such as special needs schools

Brilliant lol. I had a similar event with my daughter when they closed Vyner down in Bidston. The M.P. equivalent of the grim reaper (FF) gave us all excuses over falling child rates etc and at one meeting even said the cost of turning the school disabled friendly due to the old DDA was not cost effective. So what did they do? Closed Vyner, transferred kids to Bidston Village then turned the old school into the Observatory school which caters for 40 kids with specialist needs.

If they want to shut the school, they will do and nothing we say or do will change their minds!"
