Sweeping cuts are not a good idea
12:29pm Monday 16th December 2013 in Letters
I JUST wish to point out to the nameless bright sparks running our council now that the free brown bin has gone, those people who no longer have them now blow all of the leaves out of their paths and driveways into the roadway instead of putting them into the bin.
So now it becomes the council’s responsibility to clear all the extra debris.
No doubt the same bright sparks are also making cuts to the road-sweepers and drain cleaners with the inevitable result that grids will block and roads will flood.
Wait for the next very heavy rainfall to see the results.
When are our councillors going to realise that they were elected to represent us and not the executives?
Please start applying some common sense to the cost saving decisions that need to be made.
D Taylor, Bebington.
