Please stop feeding other people’s pet dogs
10:40am Thursday 13th December 2012 in Letters
MAY I ask why certain dog-walkers are repeatedly feeding other people’s dogs despite being asked not to?
What on earth are you getting out of it?
You are causing owners a lot of distress.
It is hard enough for many breeds to stay a good weight, without idiots taking it upon themselves to fill dogs with unnecessary treats.
For dogs with allergies or medical conditions, it is potentially life threatening, not to mention the risks posed to dogs with no recall (you are teaching dogs to run away from their owners).
Dog thieves who lure dogs away for dog bait and also evils also use this method, so you are also ensuring they have more success.
Keep the treats for your own dogs and leave others alone.

Dogs are brilliant - they bring lots of love and happiness into the world that wouldn't be there otherwise. I'm fortunate to have one living with me, and if, when he goes out walking he can bring some love and happiness to other people - then that's all the better.
We don't really own dogs, they live with us and share our world.
So don't waste your treats on a dog that gets into trouble for having them, save them for my dog; we'll both be very happy to have them !
