I AM writing to appeal to your readers for volunteers to help raise funds for the British Red Cross Week 2018 at bucket collections in Merseyside.

We have kindly been allocated collections in the Liverpool One shopping centre on Saturday, May 5, and Sunday, May 6, and a Wirral street collection on Saturday, May 19.

The fundraising team is looking for local people to give just two hours of their time to join us to raise vital funds for the Red Cross and have fun along the way.

You can help save the life of someone in need right here in Merseyside or across the world.

The Red Cross is a volunteer-led humanitarian organisation that helps people in crisis, whoever and wherever they are.

We enable vulnerable people to prepare for and withstand emergencies in their own communities and when the crisis is over, we help them recover and move on with their lives.

If supporters can help at this collection, fundraising materials will be provided and we would be more than grateful for everyone who can attend.

Please call me on 07718 244 547 or email kthreadgill@redcross.org.uk if you can help in any way. We look forward to hearing from you soon.

Kerry Threadgill, senior community fundraiser, British Red Cross.
