MY wife was knocked down by a mobility scooter at New Brighton Promenade on Sunday, banging her head on the floor.

I just want to thank everyone who came to our assistance.

There were so many of you showing concern, but special thanks to the first aid guys who just appeared and examined my wife's head wound and applied pads to stem the bleeding; to the lady paramedic; to the guy who kept me calm and kept talking to my wife; to the guy who took over my phone call to the emergency services; to the two ladies who kept reassuring us both, one of whom offered to come and pick me up at the hospital to get back to my car; to the people who went to get blankets to keep my wife warm whilst lying on the floor waiting for the ambulance; to the guy who rang the hospital to ask how my wife was and to the paramedics in the ambulance.

I do not know any of you but I do hope you get to read this expression of our thanks.

It is reassuring to know that so many people would come to help complete strangers when they needed them.
