I WAS saddened with your correspondent Mrs M A Kalil of Caldy writing that the council's newspaper is 'pure propaganda'.
Wirral Council has a major responsibility for public health and several of the articles in the latest Wirral View have a distinct public health content.
I volunteer to help influence cancer policy and in particular to encourage early diagnosis to prevent cancer developing, or by catching cancer at an early stage so that the extent of treatment is less and survivorship better.
The Wirral View contained a major article encouraging people aged 60 and over to take part in the bowel cancer screening programme.
In Wirral only 55 per cent of people undertake the test, well short of the 60 per cent target.
If coverage in Wirral View increases participation rates, lives will be saved. I do not regard this as propaganda.
Tony Murphy, Hoylake.
