WE now know, through the pages of Wirral Globe, that our lavishly-rewarded council chief executive and his equally well remunerated senior staff are incapable of carrying out the tasks for which they are so well paid.
The news that Wirral Council is to spend £1.3m of council tax payers' hard-earned money on outside consultants is an absolute disgrace.
Three of the new posts stand out for their sheer mind blowing extravagance.
One position at a paltry £138,000 a year and two positions at a mere £180,000.
Apart from the fact that I cannot believe such huge payments are justified, I always convert it back to what it costs the Wirral resident personally.
£180,000 is the product of 150 Band C council tax properties.
£180,000 is some six or seven times the average annual salary of a Wirral resident.
