I HAVE just read a letter headlined "critics of wind farm are right" in which a 'livid' Pat Lawton describes being "horrified to realise what was happening on the horizon" off the West Wirral coast.

In order to try to avoid a catastrophic global warming scenario it is imperative that we reduce our dependence on fossil fuels by switching to renewable alternatives such as wind farms.

This, however, leaves one question unanswered – and that is how can anyone as short-sighted as Pat Lawton manage to see what is happening "on the horizon?"
