MANAGER Ronnie Moore was left frustrated by an "out of character" performance that cost Tranmere Rovers their game at Yeovil Town on Saturday.

A second half strike gave the hosts a 1-0 win at Huish Park.

Reflecting on defeat, which saw Tranmere drop down to sixth position in the league, five points adrift from leaders Doncaster Rovers,  Moore said today: "It was an out of character performance by us.

"When you consider how important the game was - probably our most important this season - we were a little bit flat.

"The energy levels were not where they should be and the goal we conceded was poor.

"We've got a five-point gap, with a game in hand, so we have made it hard for ourselves."

There were two changes to the team as Andy Robinson and Michael Kay missed out with their places going to Mamady Sidibe and Danny Holmes.

Rovers kick-off the first of their final ten league games at Prenton Park this Saturday, taking on 21st-placed strugglers Oldham Athletic, a side managed by Moore in 2005.

The manager said: "This is a game we have to win; it's a matter of who plays well on the day.

"I'm hoping we can get back to some free-flowing football and there’s no better team to play against.

"I don't want to see 0ldham go down, but one of us has to finish with the points.

"There are ten games to go. I still believe we can get 72 points and stay in the top six. We now need to win four or five of the final games.

"A result on Saturday will get the faith back from our supporters."

Moore says he hopes to have Mamady Sidibe available for selection. The striker came off with a tight hamstring at Yeovil but the boss hasn't ruled him out of his plans for the weekend.

Tranmere will also be without midfielder Andy Robinson, who has a hamstring injury and could be out action for the next three weeks.

Kick off at Prenton Park will be at 3pm.
