OXTON Parkonians swept aside the visitors Wallasey last week as they crossed over 13 times in the match sponsored by Renault Wirral.
The Holm Lane pitch belonged to a previous era.
It was very heavy but playable, although not ideal for running rugby.
Parkonians certainly put on a show in front of a healthy crowd.
Leading try-scorer Andy Smith amazingly crossed six times, demonstrating once again his extreme pace.
Alan Hughes touched down twice.
Team mates Gareth Pryce, Karl Whelan, Jack Fletcher, Mark Hillan and Joe Coupe also added a score each.
All eighteen players played their part with some excellent handling at times.
The full-time result was 77-0.
The score may have reached the century had it not been for the quiet 20 minutes in the second period.
The result is all credit to the Wallasey team.
The side never threw in the towel and actually improved as the game progressed.
Next week promises to be a a tough away game for the 1st XV.
They visit second-placed Birchfield.
