IT was full steam ahead for Cammell Laird 1907 Reserves, who moved to within seven points of current league Division One leaders, South Liverpool, with two games in hand following Saturday's comprehensive defeat of fifth-placed challengers, Mossley Hill Athletic.

A fine hat trick from Danny Dixon anchored the Shipbuilders to a 7-0 victory. Further efforts from James Clare (2), Kris Hesketh, and Gino King completed the statistics.

Consistent performers, Helsby, secured their eleventh win of the season, after doubles from Andy Dunning and Steve Woodward secured a 4-0 result at Upton AA while Simon Andrews and Greg Lodge made the score sheet, as Chester Nomads accounted for West Kirby 2-1.

As a result, third-placed Bootle Resrves took closer order in the equation, when Jack Antonio (2), Danny O'Connor, Jordan Thomas and Adam Campbell applied the finishing touches in a 5-2 success at Chester Nomads Res.
