OXTON cruised to a ten wickets victory over Neston in a Chapel Press Cheshire County League Premier Division derby. Neston were restricted to 161-9 in 55 overs after being put in first.

Chris Hackett (28) and Ian Hill (27) tried their best. Gayan Fernando and Ross Davies claimed three wickets apiece for Oxton.

Openers Chris Davies (92) and Simon Stokes (66) saw Oxton home in an unbroken 163 partnership in 31.3 overs.

Irby in Division One played out a tame draw at home to Bredbury St Marks, closing on 123-7 after the visitors totalled 239-6.

Upton fell by 106 runs at Alvanley in Division Two. Matt Smith top scored with 30 for Upton who were all out 101 chasing 207-6.

There was no joy for New Brighton at Northern in the Premier Division of the Bridging Finance Solutions Liverpool Competition. They went under by two wickets.

Martyn Smith who was run out on 42 and Ashraf Nawab with 6-61 were well to the fore for the losers.

Wallasey enjoyed an eight wickets margin at home to Newton le Willows in Division One.

Matty Hughes was in great form with the ball to take 7-59. Michael Curry hit an unbeaten 87 and Graham Reid 43 as Wallasey eased past the all out 156 total by the visitors.

Birkenhead Park took one of the Division Two derbies at Caldy by 148 runs. Haroon Khan 93 and Craig Reid 40 helped Park to 222-7.

Chris Stenhouse then set about the Caldy batsmen and finished with 8-40 as the home side totalled a meagre 74.

The other derby went to Parkfield Liscard by 108 runs at Birkenhead St Mary's.

Kamran Hussein contributed an unbeaten century for the combined side and Grant Hughes scored 43.

John Warrington for the winners claimed 4-12 and Zahin Mohammed for the losers 5-51.

Parkonians lost an excellent Division One clash at home to Trinity in Division One of the Cheshire Alliance by two wickets.

Players to shine were Tim Hitchell with 108 and Chris Beckett who followed up a 55 score with a 5-81 haul.

Port Sunlight had to be content with a draw at Ellesmere Port in Division Three after their openers posted 285 runs.

Tranmere Vics took a tense match away to Sandbach II by one wicket.

Gray Francis (72) and Mike Edwards (42) made sound contributions.

Eastham Bromborough (A.Harvey 77, M.Griffiths 51) drew against visiting Rostherne Wirral in Division Three of the Meller Braggins Cheshire League managed a draw at Disley where they closed 23 runs adrift with two wickets standing.
