TWO games went ahead in midweek, first saw the final of The Victory Cup in a Tuesday night fixture at Wirral Oval.

Claughton Hotel went down 4-1 against a powerful Fender side. Liam Kearns steered in a great header from a corner kick, there was a decent solo effort for Ryan Thompson, a penalty for man of the match John Harrison, a strike for Jamie Williams and an own goal as manager John Kearney's side lifted the trophy.

Next came division one title chasers McGinty's who came from being 2-1 down with ten minutes left on the clock, to finish 5-2 winners against Queens Arms. Callum Kelly, Kareem Desmond, Nathan Harding, Gary Kelly, and Captain Wesley Butcher all hit singles. Peter Rutter netted twice for The Queens his first a 30 yrd screamer.

First Division.

The top two locked horns in the final game of the season in a winner takes all situation with both teams sharing equal points. Birkenhead F.C. ran out 3-1 winners against McGinty's to be crowned first division champions. Captain Ricky Louchran smashed in twice his first via a 25 yrd right footer, followed up by marksman Jamie Edwards for the jubilant Birkenhead outfit. Gary Kelly grabbed McGinty's consolation in a season were the Liverpool based club can be credited for playing some good attacking football.

Second Division.

Champions Bromborough Rake finished the season on a high recording a 5-2 win away to Parkfield B.A. Jake Lee 1. Lewis McNally 1. Kearon Delaney 1. Ben Windle 1. Andy Lee 1 . Jason Flahtey fired in a double for manager Lee Platt's young side.
