THE Wirral Premier Cup Final took place midweek and it was an all Houlihan's Birkenhead Sunday League affair, between Dock FC and Woodchurch AFC.

Dock (Mike Saunders, Gary Reay) came from 2-0 down at half time to level, but it was Woodchurch with two Dave Byrne efforts and a winning free kick with five minutes to go from Danny Povall, who lifted the Trophy 3-2.

Woodchurch (Dava Byrne, Paul Casey) couldn't carry their cup success into the League, as they slipped up 3-2 at Brow (Ryan Thompson 2, og).

Queens Park (Ricky Neil, James Atherton) took full advantage and stretched their lead at the top of the Premier Division with a 2-1 victory at Rock Ferry Social (Baird) and Dock FC (Gary Reay 3, Mark Head, Craig Donaghy) got over their midweek disappointment with an emphatic 5-1 win at The Tower (Max Blood), to go into second place.

Bidston Hotel (Billy New, Nathan Jones) shared the points with Stirrup Sports & Social (Michael Carroll, Carl Maughan) 2-2.

The final of the David Tacy Cup between Bushells Athletic and Shaftesbury Youth C (Dominic Hassel), required extra-time and a last minute penalty to decide it.

Level 1-1 at full time, the referee pointed to the spot for Shaftesbury as the game drew to a close; Alec Davies calmly stepped up to claim the Cup for his side.

In Division One, Saddle Club won their last game of the season to move off the bottom, winning 2-1 at Shaftesbury Youth A (Brian Cullen).

Lancelyn Glenavon ran out 4-0 winners at Kings Arms.

Still all to play for in Division Two, as Prenton Dell (Ste Mills 2, Andy Bolton, John McKay) stayed top with a 4-2 success at Farmers Arms (Jason Taylor, McFerrin).

Comecon (Tunney, Mairs, Knox, Carr) kept in the title battle with a 4-1 result over FC Ridger.

At the bottom, Bebington Legion's Graeme Kearney got a bullet header to add to an earlier Stuart Hardman effort, as they moved off the bottom following a 2-2 draw at Shaftesbury Youth B (Tommy Wright, Rich Denny).

Birkenhead Youth B guaranteed themselves runners-up spot in Division Three, with Tom Povall scoring the only goal of the game against FC Vaults.

Neston Athletic lost their chance to finish second when going down 1-0 to already Champions Ellesmere Port (Anthony Mills).

Vauxhall Youth (Nick Parsonage 3, Ashton Clements 2, Mark Winslade, Nick Cranshaw) moved into pole position in the Youth Division with a 7-2 win at Oxton Athletic Youth (Tom Booth, Tom Molloy).

However, Ashville Panthers (Leon Jones 3, Jamie Parker 3, Danny Amis, Matthew Pickles, Kieron Sait) are still very much in the mix after a 9-1 defeat of Newton Athletic.
