CHAIRMAN Lorraine Rogers hopes to name Tranmere Rovers' new manager this week, it is claimed.
There has been a deafening news silence at Prenton Park over the last few weeks as the search goes on for Brian Little's successor, but Ms Rogers is quoted on one website as saying: "We can't comment on individual names linked to the job.
"But supporters won't have too long to wait before we make an announcement."
So far, the only candidates to publicly announce their desire for the job are caretaker boss Jason McAteer and former Rovers goalkeeper Eric Nixon.
Former Lincoln manager Keith Alexander ruled himself out of the running at the weekend by taking the Peterborough job.
Left-back Carl Tremarco, 20, has signed a two-year contract at Prenton Park, stepping into the void vacated by departing defender Gareth Roberts, who has signed for Doncaster.
