NEWLY-promoted Cammell Lairds, Birkenhead's most successful non-league team ever, have arranged a series of pre-season friendlies' as they prepare for life in the Unibond Northern Premier League Division One.
Lairds, whose meteoric rise up the non-league pyramid has taken them from the Carlsberg West Cheshire League in just two years, kick-off with a local derby' against Tranmere Rovers at Kirklands, Rock Ferry, on Saturday, July 8 (3pm).
The following Saturday (July 15) they entertain Altrincham, who have just been demoted to the Unibond from Nationwide Conference North for fielding an ineligible player (3pm) before facing Third Division club Chester City at Kirklands on Wednesday, July 19 (7.30pm).
The following Saturday (July 22), Laird visit Thackley (3pm) and on Tuesday, July 25 travel to Bootle (7.45pm).
On Tuesday, August 1, Lairds welcome Droylesden to Kirklands (7.45pm) and visit Silsden on Saturday, August 5 (3pm) before lining up at Kirklands against Burscough on Tuesday, August 8 (7.45pm) and Radcliffe Borough on Saturday, August 12 (3pm).
Tonight (Wednesday), Lairds hold their annual meeting at the Lairds Social Club, Kirklands (8pm). All are welcome.
