NEW Brighton player Jon Sewell skippered Cheshire to glory at Twickenham on Monday, when they lifted the County Championship Shield with a 32-17 success against Middlesex.
Cheshire dominated for much of the time, denying Middlesex good possession and defending superbly when the need arose.
Simon Mason at stand-off played a big part for Cheshire. He struck five penalties in all and also landed a couple of conversions and a drop goal for a total of 22 points.
Ross Winney and Kati Tuipuloto scored the tries for Cheshire, who were 16-3 ahead at the interval.
Middlesex gained touch downs via Chris Sheeby and John Swords plus two conversions and a penalty by Rich Mahony.
Cheshire President Graeme Marrs said: "This great result rewards all the effort put in at the end of a demanding season by the players and the coaches and everyone else involved."
