Tranmere Ladies beat Crewe Alexandra Ladies at Cammell Laird Football Ground in New Ferry on Sunday to win the Concorde Cheshire FA Ladies Challenge Cup Final.
Tranmere took the lead through Rachel Rigby but Crewe levelled the score in the first half with a free kick after Tranmere’s Gaynor Collins was harshly sent off.
Tranmere also lost Lyndsey Rodger to a red card in the second half but the score remained 1-1 after 90 minutes.
The nine Tranmere players actually created more chances than Crewe during extra-time but, with no more goals the match went to penalties with Tranmere taking the cup 5-4.
