WIRRAL DFA Junior Cup action saw two teams progress into the last four of the competition, but two teams were eliminated.

In the all-Wallasey tie, Shore Villa Athletic disposed of under strength Ellesmere Port Red Lions in a 3-0 victory that saw Luis Shirley, Sam Copley and Cody Torrington bag the vital goals in a good team performance.

Also through are North West Harriers as they ran past AFC Tima in a 6-0 sprint thanks to a brace of goals from Riley Jones and singles from Declan Kinnear, Connor Reeves, Dean Scott and Adam Pickering.

Possible favourites, and previously unbeaten Shore Villa, suffered their first loss when losing a seven-goal thriller 3-4 versus Mersey Clipper Vets as Mark Houston, James Caul and Tom Oliver bagged their goals.

Despite being reduced to ten men in the first half of their MES Ltd First Division fixture, Oldershaw FC claimed all three points thanks to a single effort from Darren Parry in a battling encounter.

PLCCFC continued their fine form when stumping Farmers Arms 5-0 to retain third place due to Lee Davey netting a fine hat-trick, with Matty Beaman keeping his scoring ratio going and an own goal completed an excellent win.

An end-to-end affair between Wallasey Wanderers and Trident saw Wanderers edge home 2-1 with goals from Jack Neilson and Kev Jardine as Michal Mocha bagged the lone response.

In the Moreton Alarms Supplies Second Division Barnston FC kept pace near the top when coming from behind twice to record a 3-2 success over Park Royal who had led through Jamie Woods and again through Grant Reay, but strikes from Jamie Mitchell, Nathan Anderston and Will Albiston saw them over the line in a really good encounter.

New Brighton Town stay in the top four following their 4-1 defeat of Bromborough Athletic, who missed plenty of chances in a very even affair, but goals from Dom Francom, Paul Ballard, James Carlin and Ellis Lamb allowed Town to take the spoils in this good game. The lone scorer for Athletic was Andy Grice.

Despite losing to a double figure score line, Wallasey Wolves deserve credit for playing the fixture with only nine players and never giving up. However, FC Greasby took full advantage and eased home with a 12-0 result. On target for them were Corey Casey-3, Neil Sharpe-2, Layton Abbott-2, Jay Mazen, Kieran Davies, Luke Steel, Dylan Sharpe and Harrison Sherlock to record their best victory of the season so far.
