OLD Parkonians travelled to Weaverham knowing that a victory would secure their place in the Cheshire Cricket League Division One for the 2024 season.

This they duly achieved, in a very tense and exciting game, on a very hot and humid afternoon. Skipper Chris Beckett won the toss and sensibly elected to bat. In reply Weaverham were all out for 142 in 34.4 overs with Chris Beckett taking 4-32.

Already relegated Wirral were bowled out for 148 at Woodford with David Lewis (66) top scoring before the hosts reached the target for the loss of four wickets.

In Division Three, Burton's Ian Corner took 4-13 as Frodsham were dismissed for 110 with Darcy Ward's 41 steering the visitors to a three wicket win.

Tranmere Victoria's Nitin Nagesh claimed 3-28 to help bowl out Wistaston Village out for 101 with Vics' Charlie Chatterton (37) top scoring in a two wicket victory.
