WIRRAL DFA Cup first round action took centre stage this week and saw PLCCFC chop Beechwood FC down to size with a 4-2.

Jason Flaherty fired all four goals, which included a first half hat-trick.

JASGA PV stormed into a six-nil half-time lead, thanks to trebles from both Daren Pritchard and Stewart Speed, but a spirited second half revival from Liver View saw them claw back three goals in this 6-3 defeat.

In the Second division North Wirral Saints delivered a first defeat on Halfway House thanks to a goal apiece from Callum Sait and Sam Platt in their 2-1 win, but a nervy end to the game came when Alex Woods pulled a goal back for the divisional leaders. Trident remain second on goal difference after their hard fought 2-0 victory over Eastham Rangers, due to Steve Teale firing home a brace of goals.

Two games in the Dundee Youth division saw nineteen goals as Groves FC overwhelmed Wallasey Wanderers in a 9-2 success. On target for Wanderers were Lewis Connolly and Macaulie Lathom. Park Royal defeated New Ferry Rangers 8-0 as Joe Irvine-2, Charlie Chatterton-2, Jack Cureton-2, Simon Lunn and Dan Malley all got on the score sheet and are second due to a better goal difference.

Upton Youth got back to winning ways in the Grove Youth division after suffering a first defeat in midweek as they mauled Young Lions 8-1 thanks to efforts from Joel Hunter-2, Scott Jones, Joe Corcoran, Ethan Lane, Brendan Doherty, Joe McColgan and Joe Lythgoe with Adam Clark notching the lone response. Also netting eight times were Delta Colts Parkfield when beating Phoenix the Flames 8-0 as Frank Ward-3, Leon Atkins-2, Chris Garland, Tom Kennedy and Lewis Ward found the net in a good team effort. Despite a Tom Sandford goal AC Hoylake went down 4-1 versus Groves Rovers who had Ivan Balaba scoring a hat-trick and Gabriel Kwatenga adding a single. ACA Sports also bagged four a 4-1 victory when disposing of Higher Beb JFC due to a Dylan Jeffery double and singles from Max Ellis and Kurt McDonald. Hitting the consolation was Lewis Simpson in an excellent game.
