TRANMERE Rovers have today signed Ben Davies on a youth loan from Preston North End.
The defender comes to Prenton Park after Matt Hill, Liam Ridehalgh and Danny Woodards all picked up injuries early in the season.
The 19-year-old has progressed through the Preston youth system and made 47 appearances on loan for York City last season. He has made a further six appearances for Preston in 2014-15.
Manager Rob Edwards said: "I'm pleased to be able to bring Ben to the club.
"He's only young but he's played a lot of football at this level and in the division above and is an accomplished defender.
"We wouldn't have been looking to enter the loan market at this point but any team at this level that loses three left backs would need to bring in some extra cover.
"I'd like to thank Simon Grayson and Preston North End for helping us out."
Ben will be available for Saturday’s home game against Exeter City.
