Wallasey and district Sunday league: Ship sail to top of Division Two

SHIP Wallasey set sail to the top of Division Two after a 7-1 victory over Sandbrook.

Kyle Birch (3), Paul Hale, Phil Burton, Greg Nixon and Jack Hammond netted the goals with Sandbrook’s Luke Dillon registering the lone response.

A goal apiece for Scott Ainsworth, Andy Perry and Martin Wilde gave Vineyard a 3-1 victory over Parkview96 and goals from Chris Cousins (2), Rob Langton and Jason Wilde earned Poulton Vics the points when beating Nelson Grove 4-2.

Magee Cup second-round action saw holders Millhouse progress with a 5-1 eclipse of Cetco Europe thanks to a treble from Liam Jameson and singles from James Clare and Perrie Black.

Also through are Poulton Royal, who defeated Windsor 3-0 with goals from Ben Bennett, Mike Pickles and Sean Rooney; so too are Great Float S&S who won a tense battle 3-2 against Liscard Bronze who had to play with ten men for 85 minutes.

Youth team Manor Reds took Division Two side Rockpark to extra time in the Capitol Cup firstround but went out 3-1 despite a great goal from Calum Murphy.

The overdue Dutchman Cup second-round game resulted in a 5- 1 success for Sheridans as efforts from Peter Rutter (2), Paul Williams (2), and Lee Grimsley saw off Shippons FC, who replied through Lee Dermody.

Action from Wirral FA Youth Cup saw West Kirby Wasps come from behind to beat Ashville B 3-2 thanks to a superb Jack Ledsham hat-trick.

Christleton Youth destroyed nearest Dundee Youth division rivals New Brighton Youth with an 8-0 scoreline.

Moving into third spot are Heswall Youth following their hard fought 4-2 success over Rossway United due to a Luke Blondel treble and single from Kieran Hodgson.

Bagging a goal each for Higher Bebington JFC were Jack Cooke and Alex Woods as they beat Upton Youth 2-1, but they remain midtable.

In the Grove Youth Division a solitary goal by Jordon Howley for Vauxhall Colts gave them a 1- 0success over leaders Upton Town, and a goal apiece from Dean Trevitt, Joe Doig and Brendan Burns earned Manor Youth a 3-0 verdict over Beechwood Falcons.

Connor McEvoy (2), Matty Ingle and Chris Bradburn all netted for Wallasey Wanderers in their 4-1 defeat of Victoria Colts, who had Victor Oyesola as their marksman.

Joe Cleary and Matty Carpenter both scored to give Gayton JFC a 2- 1 win against AFC Bebington.
