A WIRRAL teenager whose body was found on Bidston Hill has been named as Hannah Windsor.

Her remains were discovered at around 5.30pm on Saturday in undergrowth near to Bidston Observatory following a call from a member of the public.

A post-mortem examination revealed she died as result of multiple injuries.

Detective Inspector Mark Tivendale said a family liaison officer has been appointed and is supporting Hannah's relatives as they try to come to terms with their tragic loss.

Crime Scene Investigators are in attendance at the scene and officers are appealing to anyone who may have seen anyone acting suspiciously on Bidston Hill over the last few days to come forward.

Detectives confirmed that Hannah, aged 17, was reported missing to police at 2.25pm, on Friday, May 18, by staff at the assisted accommodation where she lived in Birkenhead.

They had last seen her on Wednesday afternoon.

Detective Insp Tivendale said: "I would appeal to anyone who has any information which could help us with our inquiries to come forward and tell us.

"Hannah was first reported missing to police on Friday and we understand that she was last seen on Wednesday afternoon.

“I am particularly interested in speaking to anyone who may have seen her since Wednesday to come forward as their information will help us to build up a picture of what happened to Hannah.

"We believe that Hannah knew the offender and we are appealing to anyone who may have been on Bidston Hill near to the observatory and saw anyone acting suspiciously to contact us."

An 18-year-old man from Moreton, named locally as Adam Lewis, has been arrested on suspicion of murder and is held in custody.

Anyone with information which may help detectives with their inquiries should contact Birkenhead CID on 0151 777 2265 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
