VISITORS have been banned from a ward at Arrowe Park Hospital after an outbreak of vomiting bug Norovirus.
Restrictions have been put in place temporarily on ward 21 of the hospital in a bid to stop the spread of the illness.
Tina Long, director of nursing and midwifery at the Trust said: “The restriction of visiting is a very effective means of containing and helping to eradicate this highly infectious virus. “However, we understand that this may cause some upset to patients and their visitors and ward staff are therefore able to use their discretion in allowing visitors onto the ward.”
The situation is being reviewed daily.
