Enoch Showunmi claimed the only goal of the game to give Tranmere victory against Oldham Athletic.
Everton loanee Jose Baxter's shot looked to be heading past Oldham keeper Alex Cisak when Enoch Showunmi made sure to give Tranmere victory at Prenton Park.
Adam McGurk came close to netting Tranmere's second early in the second half, beating Oldham's keeper only to be denied by the crossbar.
Despite efforts from Shefki Kuqi, Matty Smith and Kieran Lee late in the game, the Latics returned to Oldham without a result.
Tranmere's next game is against Walsall, once more at Prenton Park on Saturday 22nd October.
