A WIRRAL teenager has died following a rush hour crash that has left six people in hospital.
Police have confirmed four are now "stable" while one is in a serious condition and another is still critical.
The incident happened on Telegraph Road in Thurstaston just after 4pm yesterday when a beige Micra collided with a black Ford Fiesta.
A 16-year-old, a passenger in the Fiesta, was taken to hospital but died a short time later.
The Fiesta contained four other males - three 17-year-olds and a 12-year-old.
The Micra was carrying two women aged 83 and 84.
Police, fire service and paramedics attended the scene and the road was closed in both directions.
Crews ripped off the roofs of the vehicles to get to the trapped passengers. An investigation into the cause of the incident is underway.
Anyone who witnessed the accident is asked to call Merseyside Police on 0151 777 5444.
