BIRKENHEAD Park were beaten 8-19 by North One newcomers Penrith at the Upper Park in Saturday's opening game.
Penrith led 12-3 at the interval, Park's new stand-off Ben McPhearson scoring for the home side with a penalty.
This Saturday newly-promoted Stockport visit the Upper Park and Birkenhead will need to improve (3pm)
