TEENAGER HAD DRUGS: Wirral Magistrates bailed a Wallasey teenager for two weeks.

Richard Jeffrey Irving, 19, of Breck Road, is charged with possession of cannabis but prosecutor Lionel Cope said a police caution was being considered instead of proceeding in court.

ASSAULT CHARGE: Benjamin Frederick Strode, 22, of Salisbury Avenue, West Kirby, appeared before Wirral Magistrates charged with assault in West Kirby in September.

He was remanded on bail for two weeks at the request of his solicitor.

ADMITTED DRINK-DRIVING: Police stopped a van which was seen swaying about the road at 3.45am and discovered the driver had drank more than three times the legal alcohol limit.

Jeremy Charles Wilkinson, 43, of Egerton Park, Birkenhead, admitted drink-driving when he faced Wirral Magistrates.

Jane Hedges, defending, said Wilkinson had an alcohol problem and was getting help.

Magistrates adjourned the case for a probation report with a view to a community penalty being imposed.

DRUG DEALING ALLEGATION: Phillip Lee Andrews, 26, of Yelverton Road, Birkenhead, was bailed until January 24 for committal proceedings by Wirral Magistrates.

He faces allegations of possession of cocaine with intent to supply to others in June at his home address and also possession of cannabis.

STOLE £3,000 OF JEWELLERY: Wirral Magistrates told a teenager they believed he had been mixing in the wrong company.

Colin Burrell, 18, of Pembroke Court, Tranmere appeared for sentence.

He had admitted dishonestly undertaking or assisting in the retention, removal, disposal or realisation of four stolen rings worth £3,600 at Sandy Lane, Wallasey, in October.

The rings were the proceeds of a burglary.

Magistrates said they considered the offence passed the custody threshold but taking into account Burrell’s previous good record, they were willing to impose a community order.

Burrell was given a 12-month supervision and must also carry out 140 hours of unpaid work.

He had to pay £280 towards compensation and £85 costs.

STOLE TWICE FROM STORE: A teenager stole twice from the same store on the same day.

Richard Green, 19, of Ash Villas in Asdville Road, Wallasey, admitted two charges of stealing a total of three bottles of whisky worth £47 from the Co-op in Victoria Road, Wallasey, when he appeared before Wirral Magistrates.

The court heard he was already subject to a previously imposed community order. They added 40 hours of unpaid work on the latest matters.
