MAN FACES GBH CHARGE: District Judge Michael Abelson at Wirral Magistrates' Court bailed a 35-year-old Wallasey man for committal proceedings.

Martin John Treacy, of Ash Grove, is charged with inflicting grievous bodily harm at Liscard Village in November last year and also using or threatening unlawful violence.

Summary trial was declined.

SENT FOR TRIAL: An Irby man facing an affray allegation was sent for Crown Court trial by District Judge Michael Abelson at Wirral Magistrates' Court.

John Robert Barlow, 30, of Whaley Lane, Irby, is charged with using or threatening unlawful violence at Berwyn Drive, Irby, in July.

Barlow was bailed to appear at the higher court on October 18.

TEENAGERS ON VIOLENCE CHARGES: Three teenagers facing violence allegations were sent to Liverpool Crown Court in a brief hearing at Magistrates' Court.

Darren McKerns, 18, of Dinmore Road, Wallasey, and a 16-year-old from Wallasey are charged with inflicting grievous bodily harm at Albemarle Road, Wallasey, in November of last year.

Dean Jon Hardie, 18, of Demesne Street, Wallasey, and the 16-year-old are charged with bodily harm assault.

Hardie and McKerns additionally face an allegation of causing damage to a window in Brighton Street, Wallasey.

District Judge Michael Abelson bailed the three to appear at the higher court on October 14.

CHARGED WITH DRUGS OFFENCES: Wirral Magistrates refused to deal summarily with a 45-year-old man facing drugs allegations.

Michael David Carter, of Osborne Road, Birkenhead, was bailed until November 22 for committal proceedings.

He is charged on two counts with possessing cannabis and being involved in the production of cannabis with intent to supply at Osborne Road in June.

MAN STOLE BIG ISSUE MAGAZINES: A man caught trying to sell Big Issue magazines at Princes Pavement, Birkenhead, when not the holder of a licence told police he found them on a bus and was trying to make a few quid.

David Kenneth Goodacre, 42, of Carlton Road, Birkenhead, pleaded guilty to theft of the magazines worth £18 belonging to Big Issue in the North.

Shenade Fearon, defending, said it was an opportunist matter and Goodacre did not get any cash.

Magistrates imposed a £65 fine and Goodacre must also pay £100 costs.

THREE CHARGED WITH WOUNDING: Harm allegations against three young men were sent to the Crown Court by Wirral Magistrates.

The three were bailed until October 14 to appear before a judge.

Harley Hobbs, 18, of Withert Avenue, Bebington, Daniel Lynch, 20, of Cambridge Road, Bromborough, and a 17-year-old from Pensby are charged with wounding with intent to do grievous bodily harm at Hoylake in June.

The matters are only triable at the higher court.

The accused must make no approach to the complainants as a condition of bail.

PAIR PLEAD NOT GUILTY: Ian Sheeran, 40, of Bickerton Avenue, Bebington, and Steven Andrew Smith, 39, of The Vicarage, Mill Lane, Wallasey, pleaded not guilty when the appeared before Wirral Magistrates charged with theft of a wooden gate worth £140 belonging at Oak Avenue, Overchurch in July.

They were remanded on bail until December 2 for evidence to be called.
