FURTHER to your headline Cash-strapped council to spend £25,000 on floral decorations' (Globe, May 3), can I point out that the only public toilet in Hoylake is at the bowling green on the promenade?
The dilapidated seating at the first bowling green is not safe to sit on. These seats have been like for this for a few years now with no money to replace or repair them and the fees have gone up.
I belong to a ladies' bowling club and we now have to pay more than £200 for two afternoons bowling a week. The average age of the ladies is between 70 and over 80. Surely the £25,000 could have been used for essential things that are needed?
Mrs R O'Brien, Hoose Court, Hoylake
