A Moreton community centre it getting a facelift after residents joined forces with a housing association.
A management committee dedicated to improving the condition of Sandbrook Community Centre was set up by local people who received funding and support from Wirral Partnership Homes.
The funding helped to pay for a new kitchen, which was fitted by the association's apprentices, as well as painting and decoration and a new programme of activities.
Funding manager Barbara Epstein said: "The community centre was in need of modernisation and thanks to receiving funding and the support of Wirral Partnership Homes we have been able to change the appearance of the centre and make it a welcoming environment for all of the community.
"We are now able to offer a range of activities and they are proving popular with the community."
The centre is now running a youth club for ten to 16 year olds, a luncheon club, tai chi classes and a fun club for five-nine year olds on Saturday afternoons.
