THE convalescent home in West Road, Noctorum, was 'Keilberg'. I worked there for a year in 1926 - I'm now 93 - as a porter and gardener.
In the morning, I worked in the house - there were about 40 children - and I had to clean shoes every day, as well as help in the home and garden. Twice a week, I rode an older bike to the Children's Hospital in Woodchurch Road to collect medicine for the coming week.
'Keilberg' was bombed in 1940, but by then all had moved to a safer place. Hope this helps Anne Nulty, of Prenton (Mailbox, February 15) .

THE children's convalescent home in Noctorum, a large, red-bricked house, was called 'Keilburgh'.
It was bombed during the war, but I believe there was no loss of life.
