Wirral Badminton League with David Spencer

THE Wirral Badminton League's new season looked likely to open on a disappointing note.

Premier side Neston losing a number of players and, unable to cope with the playing restrictions, were forced to withdraw at the last minute.

The League managed to salvage something from the situation by allowing Neston to play in Division One South in place of Claremount.

Claremount have taken on the Neston 2 fixtures in Division Two South, but the Premier Division will remain one club short.
