MICK Andrews got back to winning ways in the Sunday Morning Flyers when he came from 19-9 down to beat Chris Eccles 21-20 in this week's final.

Andrews dominated the 'Flyers' when they first started but last season had a poor run of form by his standards.

l Ray Lynch won the Richard Evans 31-Up Memorial Handicap with a 31-27 victory over Matt Gilmore, while Syd Taylor and his partner, Barbara Hardy, won the inaugural Merseyside Referees Keith Mansell Trophy, defeating Joan Jones and Tom Jones 21-9 in the final played at Cammell Laird.

l Brian Lane and Dave McDermott retained the Ritchie and Madge Niccolls Memorial Pairs with a comfortable 21-12 victory over the 2003 champions, Matt Gilmore and Anthony Thompson.

Biggest winners, though, were Macmillan Nurses, who received a cheque for £620 off the Niccolls family. The Niccolls family would like to thank all the players for their generous support, together with Milmac Flooring, the Edwards Family and Wallasey Royal British Legion for their support and sponsorship.
