KEL march into semis

IN the Cheshire Sunday Cup, Houlihan's Birkenhead Sunday League club KEL earned themselves a semi-final spot by beating Queens Park 3-0, while Woodchurch Communicare lost 4-3 to Packet House after extra time.

Mark Brady and Kevin Thompson were on target in the Premier Division as Brow won 3-0 at home to Dock.

Brian Connolly scored for Rock Ferry Social in their 1-1 draw with Shaftesbury (Lee Perry). Andy Denton scored for SDV, who lost 2-1 to Archers Social.

Ship Inn hit five without reply against Sea Dog, Ian McMullen, 2, Ritchie Gibson, 2, and Ritchie Mearns on target. Dave Sands scored for Swan in their 1-1 draw with St Cecilias.

In Division Two, Argyle won 4-3 at home to Neston, with goals from Paul Dominic, 2, Chris Perry and Davie Jones. Parkdale (Jamie Gladwin, Darren Griffiths, Liam Phelan) beat Bluebell 3-0.

Despite goals from Andy Smith and Paul Parkes, Penketh lost 5-2 to Bromborough Hotel. Joey McGinn scored for Corsair in a 1-1 draw with leaders Graylands. Club Octel won 3-1 at home to Queens Park Entrance, with Mark Upton, Colin Croft and Steve Davies on target.

Youth action saw leaders Shaftesbury continue their winning ways with a 5-1 win away to Poulton Youth, while rivals Ashville Colts won 8-0 at Heswall Youth. Goals for Jamie Hough, 2, Paul Brocklebank and John Harrison gave Heygarth a 4-0 win at home to Young Lions.
