TWELVE volunteers from The Stroke Association's Dysphasic Support Service were presented with Gold Badges and a Certificate at a special presentation ceremony.

The volunteers have been with the Community Service for 10 years working on a regular weekly basis with members who have speech and language difficulties following a stroke.

Volunteers from Wirral Dysphasic Support Service were presented with badges and certificates by Maree Miles, Director of Community Services, who gave thanks and congratulations for 10 years valuable service to the Stroke Association. They are based at Pensby Day Centre, on Tuesday afternoons.

The Dysphasic Support Service arranges a weekly group meeting and organises home visits from volunteers, to work in a very relaxed friendly way to help improve communication skills of members.

Training sessions for interested volunteers are being held in the New Year. If anyone would like more information contact the Stroke Information Centre on 604-7362.
