Wirral West MP David Hunt is jointly sponsoring a Bill in the House of Commons to make Holocaust Denial a criminal offence.
The Bill is not only sponsored by Mr Hunt but has cross party support. Mr Hunt told the Globe: "Holocaust Denial is a criminal offence in other countries, but in Britain we allow this anti-semitism to go unpunished.
"Holocaust Denial is a wilful and malicious falsification of history as part of a political agenda to incite hatred and abuse against the Jewish community.
"It attempts to build distrust and suspicion against Jews by claiming the Holocaust as a Jewish provocation to gain politically and financially. It is time this loophole was closed."
Mr Hunt is also chairman of the Inter-Parliamentary Council Against Anti-semitism and recently travelled to Switzerland to persuade Swiss bankers to release the gold which was deposited by the Germans before, during and after World War II, but really belongs to Jews and victims of the Holocaust.
